Condo Living Tips: What You Need to Do Before the Year Ends

Dec 31, 2021

The year 2022 is fast approaching! With only a few days till New Year’s Eve, you are certainly thinking of how you would welcome the new year with a bang, what you would be preparing for media noche, or how you would handle things in the year 2022. It's important to know how you want your life to go for the year ahead and how it will change depending on your plans. That is great to think about new beginnings! However, the key in embracing new beginnings is to not rush through the end of the chapter you are living presently. Before kicking off 2022, there are a few things you should put on your to-do list for the end of the year!

Get yourself a “Me” Time

The holiday season is for sure very fun and exciting but it can also be exhausting and stressful. Before you know it, it will be the new year, and if you are not cautious, you will end up missing the opportunity to recharge and rest. You would not want to start the new year feeling tired and miserable, right?

Whether there is a week, month, or even a day left in the year, you need to find time and schedule for self-care. Having a day for self-care or “me” time does not have to be a day in the spa (but if that is your thing, go ahead and do it!). You can have a restful and meaningful time by doing the things you love to do. For example, reading a motivational book while drinking coffee in your favorite cafe all by yourself amidst the end of year rush, and taking the time off to sleep in your condo in Manila are considered self-care.

Reflect on the things you have done well this year

Reflecting on the things you did well this year will be a great way to motivate yourself to make good decisions in the next year. The good things that you did this year will inspire and motivate you to keep up your momentum. It's a great time to make plans for the next year, set goals, and evaluate how you're doing in your career so far. You might want to write down all the things that went well for you throughout the year, then compare them with what didn't go as well in order to learn from your mistakes, identify weak points and build on strengths.

You might also ask yourself other questions like: How are my personal relationships? What have I learned this year? What great memories have I built?

Create a list of the things you have achieved this year

Similar to reflecting on the things you did well, it is also good to create a list of the things you have achieved this year. Your achievements or accomplishments don't have to be big, such as a work promotion, purchasing a house or a condo in Makati, or an award; they can also be the small things and everyday accomplishments that need to be recognized.

Simply crossing off all the things you did on your to-do list or treating your family to a nice restaurant are already considered achievements. Celebrating these wins whether big or small is nourishing and is important.

Remove some clutter

It is important to have a clean living space during the new year. Getting rid of unnecessary clutter from the house can be a great start. There are many reasons why you should do this before the year starts. You will have more energy and focus to get your resolutions accomplished, as well as be less stressed with less stuff cluttering up your way.

Decluttering is not only done in your home or condo living space, you can also remove the clutters in your electronic devices. You can start this by simply removing unnecessary apps in your phone or deleting old and irrelevant files in your computer.

Try something new

Being this close to new year’s day, it is never too late to still try something new. Doing a little exploring in your neighborhood or city is the first step. Within a few minutes of your home, you'll most likely find tons of fun events and activities to participate in. You'll have a whole new perspective on your hometown, and you might even come up with some fresh ideas for things to do in the coming year.

Finding new hobbies during this holiday break will also give you a boost in the coming year. You may try painting, weaving, or creating other forms of art right now so you can continue doing it next year.

Manage your finances

Managing your finances during the holiday season can be challenging. It can be a tough task to get your finances in order when you're spending a lot of time with family and friends during this season. It is important to manage your finances and not let the excitement of the holiday season and end-of-year sales ruin your budget. It is better to celebrate New Year’s Eve knowing you and your bank account are secured and you have money welcoming the new year.

Have one last workout

The holiday season brings a lot of joyful events like Christmas parties and family reunions, and one way to celebrate these is eating out. With all the parties and celebrations you have attended, you have eaten a little too much for sure because it's a holiday! However, even if there are just a few days till 2022, there's still a lot of time to get your blood pumping and your body moving. Even a simple exercise like going for a walk will help you stay healthy. Have one last workout before leaving 2021 to stay fit for the upcoming year. It's a good thing that there are gyms for people living in a condo in the Philippines.

These are just some of the things that you should do before the year ends. In addition to the list, it is best to set out an action plan for your goals to accomplish next year. Your goals are particular objectives that you wish to achieve, but they are meaningless without a plan to reach them.

People always say that you should start the year right, but in order for you to do this, you should end your year right first. You would be amazed by how much you can do and make happen before the end of the year. Finishing 2021 on a high note can entail good things waiting for 2022.
