Condo Tips: Steps to Cure Your Hangover

Jan 03, 2022

Drinking at a party is inevitable especially if you have a good place like in a condo living. However, hangover, the consequence of drinking hard is also expected. Hangovers appear to be the body's way of alerting us of the dangers of binge drinking. It's a team effort physiologically: Diarrhea, exhaustion, headache, nausea, and shaking are common symptoms. When the "fight or flight" reaction is activated, blood pressure rises, the heart beats faster than normal, and sweat glands overproduce. Some people become light or sound sensitive. Others experience a sensation of spinning or vertigo.

Alcohol is converted into acetaldehyde, which is hazardous at high concentrations. However, concentrations rarely reach that level, so that isn't the whole story. Because drinking disrupts brain function during sleep, a hangover could be considered a sort of sleep deprivation.

Alcohol disrupts the hormones that control our biological clocks, and a hangover can seem like jet lag. Because alcohol can cause migraines, some people may mistakenly believe they're suffering from a hangover when they're actually suffering from an alcohol-induced migraine.

If you have experienced a hangover before and did not know how to treat it, here are 7 effective ways to help you get better the next time you experienced a hangover

Eat the right breakfast.

One of the most well-known hangover cures is to have a full breakfast. One explanation is that eating a healthy breakfast might help keep your blood sugar levels in check. Eating breakfast with good scenery from your condo living can boost your appetite.

Also, low blood sugar levels aren't always the cause of a hangover, although they're frequently linked to it. Some hangover symptoms, including nausea, exhaustion, and weakness, may be caused by low blood sugar. In fact, some studies suggest that maintaining a healthy blood sugar level can help to offset some of the negative effects of alcohol intake, such as the accumulation of acid in the blood.

Excessive drinking can upset the chemical equilibrium in your blood, resulting in metabolic acidosis, which is marked by an increase in acidity. It may be linked to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and exhaustion. In addition to alleviating some hangover symptoms, a healthy breakfast can replenish important vitamins and minerals that can be depleted by excessive alcohol consumption. Although there is no proof that low blood sugar causes hangovers, having a nutritious, well-balanced, and hearty breakfast the morning after drinking will help alleviate hangover symptoms.

Stay hydrated.

Alcohol use can cause dehydration in a variety of ways. For starters, alcohol is a diuretic. This means that it causes an increase in urine production, resulting in a loss of fluids and electrolytes required for normal operation. Second, drinking too much alcohol can trigger vomiting, which can result in even more fluid and electrolyte loss. Imagine having a beautiful condo design but full of vomit, doesn’t sound good right? Although dehydration is not the sole cause of a hangover, it does play a role in several of the symptoms, including increased thirst, exhaustion, headaches, and dizziness.

Increasing your water consumption can help you avoid getting a hangover by alleviating some of the symptoms. A decent rule of thumb when drinking alcohol is to alternate between a glass of water and a drink. Although this will not definitely prevent dehydration, it will assist you in limiting your alcohol consumption. To avoid hangover symptoms, stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking water anytime you feel thirsty.

Avoid darker-colored alcoholic beverages.

Clear liquors, such as vodka and gin, have been demonstrated in studies to cause fewer hangovers than dark liquors, such as whiskey, red wine, and tequila. ethanol is the most common type of alcohol in alcoholic beverages, although darker liquors also contain chemically related substances (congeners), such as methanol. The same enzymes digest ethanol and methanol, but methanol metabolites are particularly hazardous, thus they may create a greater hangover.

Get plenty of sleep.

For certain people, alcohol can cause sleep disruptions and be linked to lower sleep quality and duration. While low to moderate amounts of alcohol may promote sleep at first, research shows that higher doses and long-term consumption might impair sleep patterns. A lack of sleep does not create a hangover, but it can exacerbate one. Hangover symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and irritability can all be increased by a lack of sleep. Allowing your body to recover and get a full night's sleep will help relieve symptoms and make a hangover more manageable especially if you live in a condo living that’s comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep.

Have a drink the next morning.

Many people swear by this common hangover treatment, sometimes known as "hair of the dog." Though it's mostly based on legend and anecdotal data, there is some evidence that drinking the next morning can help with hangover symptoms. This is because alcohol alters the way the body processes methanol, a molecule found in minute levels in alcoholic beverages. Methanol is turned to formaldehyde after you drink alcohol, which is a harmful chemical that can produce hangover symptoms. When you have a hangover, however, ingesting ethanol (alcohol) can block this conversion and prevent the creation of formaldehyde entirely.

Methanol, rather than generating formaldehyde, is safely eliminated from the body. However, as this strategy can lead to the formation of dangerous behaviors and alcohol dependence, it is not suggested as a hangover therapy.

Take a pain reliever, but not Tylenol.

Aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, other brands), and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) may relieve headaches and other aches and pains. However, NSAIDs may upset a stomach that has already been affected by alcohol. Take acetaminophen only if absolutely necessary (Tylenol). If you have alcohol in your system, the harmful effects of acetaminophen on the liver may be amplified.

Take B vitamins and zinc.

The diets were analyzed 24 hours before and after excessive drinking, according to a study published recently in The Journal of Clinical Medicine. The study was tiny, and the conclusions were based on the participants' statements about what they ate. They did discover, however, that persons who consumed more zinc and B vitamins in their food and beverages had less severe hangovers.

While there are numerous well-known hangover treatments, only a few are scientifically proven. However, there are various scientifically validated methods for avoiding the negative side effects of a night of drinking. Staying hydrated, getting plenty of sleep, having a nutritious breakfast, and taking specific vitamins are all effective ways to alleviate hangover symptoms. In addition, drinking in moderation and selecting drinks low in congeners can help you avoid getting a hangover in the first place.
