Condo Tips: What To Do Before Your Board Examination

Feb 23, 2022

In the Philippines, education is very much valued. Parents prepare their children to go to school, from primary until tertiary or graduate school. Every step of the way, we put studies first because we believe that this is indeed a treasure.

As everyone starts to enter the academe, thinking of the field of expertise has become a part of the journey. Choosing what course you should take is a big responsibility and a big leap to what kind of future you want to have. Although this does not sum up who you will be in the future, this makes sense to what path you want to take.

Everyone dreams of different things for themselves. Some see themselves working in the academe also, or in the corporate world, or in the government sector, and more. Thus, this depicts what kind of degree you will take in your college years. Various courses are being offered in different universities in the country.

Talking about degrees, these are the courses that focus on a certain field of expertise. There are courses that center their skills within the business; others are in construction, multimedia, laws, government, etc. Such degrees pertaining to these are all available in the Philippines. Therefore, being professional within the field that we dream of is more possible because of the availability of these courses.

Degree Classifications

Technical and Vocational Education and Training Courses

These pertain to education and training courses that besides the general education process, practical courses to enhance skills and expertise are being taught also to navigate their capabilities.

Associate Degree

This is usually designed to complete a two-year course in a certain field of study.

Bachelor's Degree

This usually takes four years to finish and makes you garner a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree.

This pertains to an academic qualification wherein it is established to post-graduate level to garner higher expertise to a certain career or field of study.

So, to whatever kind of degree and expertise you want to take, the above classifications are for you to choose from.

Moreover, there are courses or degrees that have and offer licensure examinations or board exams. One of the purposes of taking licensure or board exams to certain degrees is to know the extent of one’s capacity, ability, and knowledge pertaining to the field of expertise they chose. Passing the board exam in the Philippines can eventually give more opportunities to takers who passed it, thus making them seem more professional in the industry they want to take.

However, this can’t summarize one’s capability yet indeed a satisfaction to everyone who takes this, as well as a pride for their family.

Not all courses have licensure or board examinations. The following are some of the courses in the Philippines that have licensure or board exam:

  1. Accountancy
  2. Engineering Courses (Aeronautical, Agricultural, Chemical, Civil, Electronics, Geodetic, Mechanical, Sanitary)
  3. Architecture
  4. Criminology

  6. Dentistry
  7. Law (Bar Exam)
  8. Medicine

It is said that Law (Bar Exam) is the hardest board exam in the Philippines. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is also considered as one of the toughest board examinations in the country. However, all board examinations are the toughest in their field of expertise.

Truthfully speaking, reviewing for the board examination and taking the examination itself is a lot of pressure and mind-blowing. Some say that their real graduation is when they have finally passed the said licensure exam. To some, they chose not to take this but for others, they want to take this chance for their satisfaction as well as for their family.

As they have decided to take this opportunity, the pressure is finally ON. Thus, board exam tips and tricks are a must.

Board Exam Tips and Tricks

Have Your Own Study Plan

Every taker has their way of studying. Some routines or studying plans work for the others, while some don’t. So, better yet make your own effective studying routine that will suit your creative style of reviewing.

Don’t Just Settle To One; Grab More Resources

Sometimes, two are better than one, mostly when you are reviewing for your board examination. It is not advisable to just settle with one book or reviewer. There are a lot and other resources such as the internet, journals, etc that you can rely on for a wider scope of knowledge. Take advantage of it.

Prioritize The Hardest Subjects

It feels good if you have mastered the subjects that you like. On the other hand, it feels a little bit harder to understand and comprehend those formulas and terminologies to the subjects that you hate. Thus, this is a good sign for you to prioritize this. Better not be caught off-handed with these subjects at the end.

Find Yourself a Healthy Study Nook

The environment around you is a big factor in how much you can focus on your review. Disturbances, noise, and negativity are not helpful when it comes to concentration. Therefore, look for a place where positivity and peace are present.

Give Yourself A Break

No matter how much you cram and procrastinate, give yourself some time to breathe. Avoid being burned out and exhausted. You need time to rest, relax, sleep and unwind so you can get more strength to review and absorb all terminologies and formulas. Reward yourself with some time away from your reviewer.

Things You Should Do Before Taking Your Board Exam

Prepare Yourself

From reviewing to taking the actual licensure exam needs a lot of preparation. You need to prepare your mind for all of the subjects you need to study. You also need to prepare your body by eating healthy foods, exercising as much as possible, so you won’t get sick. Emotional and spiritual preparation is also a must because these will lift you and your faith that you are bound for success.

Set Your Mind

Focus on your goal which is to take and pass the board exam. Let that sink in your mind so you will gain more motivation to let yourself be aware of what should be done in the entire process; from review to the examination itself.

Believe In Yourself

Thinking of the worst scenarios such as failing the board examination is inevitable, yet still, believe that you can make it. Don’t let negativity pull you down. Regardless of all possibilities, make yourself believe that you will take your board exam and see your name on the list of the passers. Believing in yourself is the start of your success.

Be Disciplined

Self-discipline is a big factor for you to pass the board examination. You are limitless but don’t forget to set boundaries. Do what needs to be done with the right phasing. Discipline yourself in a way that you should keep your journey as clean and as worthy as possible.

Review. Review. Review.

Review as much as there is an available time. Use various techniques and resources so you don’t just rely on one piece of information. Licensure examination is a little bit tricky, so make yourself more to that.

Know The Details About Your Board Examination

You should be aware of the details of your board examination. Details such as the requirements needed for the filing, date of examination, school or room assignment, so you are duly updated to this. Everything will be messed up if you are not updated about your examination.

Don’t Forget To Pray

Never forget that there is One Above who sees your struggle and sacrifices for your dreams. As they say, do your best and let God do the rest. Believe that He will make everything possible for you. The things that you have worked hard for, and are meant for you, will always be meant for you. Remember, His plans will always prosper. Believe in Him, and let Him do the work for you.
