Feb 22, 2022

After nearly two years of the foreign travel ban, finally the Philippines lifted and ease the travel restriction for foreign tourists.

One of Rappler’s articles reported that foreign visitors from 157 countries with visa-free entry to the Philippines who have been properly vaccinated and tested negative for the coronavirus will be welcomed back and will not be asked to quarantine upon arrival. Tourists must show proof of vaccination but are not required to quarantine, and travel companies are hoping that the trickle of arrivals will turn into a flood, giving the industry a boost. Beginning Tuesday, February 1, the Philippine government will suspend its risk classification list for countries in favor of allowing fully vaccinated individuals to enter the country:

February 1 – Returning fully vaccinated Filipinos, regardless of origin.

Foreigners may enter the Philippines for either tourism or business, according to Acting Presidential Spokesman and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles on Friday, January 28. Nationals from countries listed below who are traveling to the Philippines for business and tourism purposes are allowed to enter the Philippines without visas for a stay not exceeding thirty (30) days, provided they hold valid tickets for their return journey to the port of origin or next port of destination and their passports valid for at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated period of stay.
